Spain Girls reunite again!

Last year Addie and I made the trip for a "Spain Girls Fiesta" that will hopefully become a tradition for years to come. (We missed you, Brette! And Cheryl--it's time you came back to the US to join us)

The newest member of the Spain Girls-Shannon's little sister Kelly--is only 6 weeks old! She is a fantastic sleeper, so we didn't get many pictures of her--she was busy being a sleepy little bean.

This year included a ton of play time for the girls (yeah, they're not sleeping as much as they did last year, so lots more time to entertain them!)

Snacks and coloring at Shannon's living room picnic table

"Go away, Mom, you're cramping my style. I'm a big girl--I can sit here by myself."

"Whoa, what's in here?"
"Dude, you have the coolest stuff, Shannon---high five!"

You know how much Addie loves dress up, so when she found out Shannon has a stash of really fun dress-up clothes, Addie was in HEAVEN.

No sleepover is complete without a yummy breakfast in the morning. Here is Addie and Shannon helping Jodi make banana pancakes--they both love to help cook.
We had a BLAST! Thank you again, McGee fam for having us!

Uncle Doug and (now official Aunt) Alli got Hitched!

For those of you were at our wedding back in 2005, you may have remembered that Doug caught the garter and his then-girlfriend Alli caught the bouquet. It was no secret then that they were meant to be...it just took a few years for them to wear the dress and tuxedo :) Steve, Addie, and I were all in the wedding party so we trekked up to New Jersey for the festivities. Since we were busy, we didn't get a ton of photos, but here are a handful that captured the big day.

We bought Addie a basket and petals so she could practice leading up to the big day. Here she is in the Booktrader going over her flower-girl duties in her head. I think she looks a little nervous.

Beautiful bride Alli and her sister Sue on the way to take photos at Drew University where the couple met.

Once Addie was all suited up, she was all smiles and twirls
Hey mommy, can I have your bouquet?

Congratulations to the happy couple! We are SO so happy for the two of you. Hope you enjoyed Disneyworld!!

Did I mention twirling?

Questions Answered

Okay, folks, I know some of you (ahem...grandmas) are buggin' for some new pictures. We're finally getting our computer issues straightened out and should be able to post some within the week. In the meantime...your questions are answered!

Gramma Joan: "Does she miss us as much as we miss her?"

Answer: Absolutely! Addie is always excited to see pictures of her "ya ya" and "bop" in New Jersey. :)

Grandma Eva: "How does Addie survive without the computer?"

Answer: She copes a lot better than I do and a lot better than our blog-starved family and friends. We've actually curbed her computer time because cracker crumbs and sticky fingers do not make a good keyboard coating.

Steph: "What was her first word?"

Answer: If mamamamamammamama doesn't count, then her first word was "dog."

Corinne: "In which ways does Addie reflect Steve's personality and in which ways Monica's:)?"

Answer: Good question! She has my stubbornness and not-s0-great sleep habits. She also has my love for sauces. She has Steve's ability to focus and his love of music. I swear that if a U2 song comes on these days, she says "BAH!" and points to the source of the music-- BAH meaning "Bono." Steve is VERY proud! :)

Dan: "What does a horsey say?"

Answer: Nayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy (video pending)

Douggo: "What is cuter? Addie saying "drop" as she drops the flower petals or when she puts her fist out for a fist-pound immediately after she gives you a hi-five?"

Answer: Doug is referring to Addie's reign as a flower girl in his wedding two weekends ago (pictures pending..I promise) where she satisfied her cuteness requirement by dropping almost all of the flowers at the very start of the aisle. My answer? Both are equally cute--she's just all around adorable (I'm not biased...I promise).

Q&A part 2!

Ladies and Gentlemen of the blog, I regret to inform you that the Silvestro family computer is not doing so hot. We've had some issues and it has prevented us from uploading photos that we've taken of our sweet Miss Adeline. The issue is being resolved promptly and I am grateful for your patience.

So...while we are photo-less, I thought it would be fun to do another Addie Q&A since I, at least, had fun with it last time :) Has it really been a whole year since I did that? Wow. Time flies.

Please place your questions in the comment boxes. Thanks!

Happy Eastover, everyone!

What is Eastover, you ask? It's a combination of Easter and Passover--gotta love interfaith families--we get to do it allll. :)

Grandma and Poppy Silvestro came down from NJ to help celebrate--and celebrate we did! The weekend was a blast!

Addie got horsie rides...

...presents (for the girly girl that we love, a new cell phone. It's pink and looks just like a nokia, sweeeet)

Relaxing time with Poppy...

...and gramma

Gramma and Poppy had t-shirts made for me and Addie! Mine says

"I have Mommie-Tude!" and Addie's says: "I have Addie-Tude!" Yes she DOES! ;)

Addie got dressed up for Eastover dinner at Gaga Eva's house. On the menu--Matzo ball soup and Ham....gotta love "fusion" cooking ;)

Today she got her Easter basket...ooh, for ME?

Gaga: Are you sure you can eat the whole chocolate bunny Addie? Maybe I should have half

Addie took the egg hunt VERY seriously...

Checking out her loot with Dada

Happy Eastover to our family and friends!

The big Three-Oh.

So....this past weekend I left my 20's behind and joined a new decade. Yep, I turned 30 years old! A lot of people asked me how I felt about achieving this milestone birthday and I have to say, I wasn't nervous at all. Frankly, my life rocks. If you had asked me 10 years ago what I wanted my life to look like in 2009, I would probably have said: Um, hopefully married to a wonderful man, with at least one kid, and surrounded with my family and friends. Check, check, and check.

My birthday pancakes

Never too old to sit on your mommy's lap (ya hear that, Addie of the future??)

Thank you everyone for all the warm wishes!

And because the Silvestro fam can't get enough of the outdoors...when the sun comes out, we play.

Sleepy.

Hungry.

Smiley.

Goofy.

Happy.

Sweetie
